"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Since I got my little art system installed on my computer, I've done a few pictures with it, and can't seem to find the one kind of art that I like most, and am good at. Everyone has their horror pics, anime, fractals, etc... I have---pieces. And of no specific category or type either. So now I experiment, and wish me luck on my search for art that will truly be mine.
